I have used this children's dance book at Life'sWorc to develop coordination and spatial awareness in the children. --Ettie
"Ettie Steg worked with the children who participate in Life's WORC's Making Connections Respite/ Recreation Program.
The children in the program are all developmentally disabled and most of them are Autistic. Ettie provided the children with movement exercises and breathing techniques.
She had them pretending to be animals while acting out how the animals move and how they sound.
She is knowledgeable in this area and proved that she is patient and diligent in her work.
She was well prepared for her sessions, but also asked for input from the children as to what they wanted to do.
She also incorporated water and other sensory items into her routine.
The children enjoyed these sessions as Ettie returned to the program to work with them a few more times.
I would recommend Ettie's work to any group of children as an enjoyable and relaxing recreation activity.
Sincerely,
Susan Choinski
Supervisor of Making Connections
